This year’s agenda has been devised in collaboration with patients and we hope that you will agree that there is a varied and interesting programme planned for the day.

Booking your place 

When you are ready to book your place please also indicate your choice of ONE  workshop, evening meal and car parking through the ticket links below. Please choose only ONE workshop option per person. 

The conference is free of charge to attend, including refreshments throughout the day and lunch. The conference costs The Somerville Foundation £35 per person. If you are able to make a donation towards the cost of your place we would be very grateful for your support.

The deadline for booking conference places is Friday 20th September 2019.

For those wishing to stay and socialise in the evening after the conference, you may pre-book a 2-course evening meal at £10.00 per person. Please choose both ‘Conference Admission’ and ‘Evening Meal’ at your time of booking and view the menu at the bottom of this page. Menu options must be chosen at time of booking and your options then sent to: conference@thesf.org.uk (one option per course, per person).

We are happy to cater for whatever needs you may have. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements or access needs by emailing conference@thesf.org.uk. If you are currently unwell please let us know how we can make arrangements to help you attend.

We recommend that if you are travelling by train, coach or air you book as soon as possible as fares may be significantly cheaper if booked in advance.

Conference Location

The Crowne Plaza Liverpool is situated in the heart of the city centre, sitting adjacent to the iconic Royal Liver Building with stunning views of the River Mersey.




If you are travelling by car there is car parking available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at a cost of £14 per car. There is a 25% discount on parking available to those who are staying at the hotel overnight. Please book a parking space and this discount will be refunded to you.

Liverpool Accommodation

A limited number of hotel rooms at the Crowne Plaza Hotel are available for those attending the conference at the rate of £125 on Friday night and at the rate of £225 on Saturday night. (*We recommend that you check with the hotel that this is the cheapest rate available.) To book please call the in-house reservations team between 8am and 6pm on 0151 243 8000. The code when booking the bedrooms is TSF.

Grants are available in advance to help those struggling financially to attend. If you are living on benefits, working but on a low income, or have serious financial problems you should be eligible for a grant.
• Financial support grant – for those on low wages, benefits or facing financial hardship. Let us know your circumstances and we will do our best to help.
• Travel support grant – in addition to the above grant, we may be able to help new attendees to travel to the conference.
